I've got this job this weekend - and am now glad I bought some
engineer's blue marker. It'll be just like doing the plain bearings on
my steam locomotive...

Simon - regarding the comment from Bob on being sure to provide the
mechanical key on the surface with a hacksaw, I asked Andy Draper at the
factory and he suggested cutting about half the metal thickness deep. I
thought you might find it useful if I passed this on.

Regards,
Jeremy

Welcome to the forum Simon.

I also had the same problem. My tube appeared to have three evenly
spaced
high spots as if iy had been clamped slightly too hard in a three jawed
chuck. I ended up spending a few hours polishing the tube with fine
emery
paper until the bushes slid on and off easily.

Hi Simon

I had the same problem at first, but things improved greatly after I
cleaned
the torque tube with acetone to remove marks left by packaging tape.
Using a
little oil also helped.
