There may be no need for regret, unless you've done the math on that
circuit.  If one of #14's fails anywhere or one the connectors merely
goes high resistance, then the other #14 takes the load and could at
least get very hot in a bundle.  Even if it doesn't ignite anything,
melting heat on a non-aircraft, multi-pin plastic connector shell can
start a nasty chain of events in adjacent circuits.

Chapter 11 of FAA's AC 43.13-1B, downloadable from faa.gov, has a huge
amount of technical info to compute temp rise in wire and voltage
drop, all the considerations with connectors, how to stack fastener
hardware re the dissimilar metal problem, and much more.
