I found the same. My own guess is that it might be something to do with the 
gyroscopic effects of the prop. If you rotate onto the main wheel only the 
plane tends to rock from one O/R to the other. This could cause yaw due to 
precession effects, which then causes pitch due to precession effects and 
in general makes the whole situation more difficult to predict and control.
Just armchair guesswork.
