in the Operators Manual (para 6.8 Operation in >wintertime) we are advised
to 'start with the throttle closed and the choke activated. (open throttle

starting carb ineffective)'.

If this is the case (and I do not dispute it), how come as our engine warms up
and we open the throttle, playing it off against slowly closing the choke, if
we close the choke to quickly the revs drop quite a bit. If this happens the
revs can be brought back up either by opening the throttle more or by pulling
the choke out a bit more.
