One thing that has been suggested in the past but I haven't seen mentioned this time is that, because the pip pins are there just to stop the tailplanes moving outwards, it is worth making the holes in the tubes slightly oval in a fore and aft plane. This ensures that the outer tubes do not take any of the pitching load which might cause them to disband. Nigel Charles |
