>I am trying to finalise a build site for a Europa.

I have the possibility of a work space of 27 meters sq (288 sq feet) but I
fear this will not be big enough.

I have looked on the various FAQ's and they suggest that it can be done in
a
single garage, again I feel this would drive you nuts.

Any advice welcome, even better if there are any builders in South London
please let me know.

Apart from the convenience factor of the more space the better certain
requirements become apparent at certain stages of construction.

1. If your workshop has its longest dimension much less than 30 feet it
will not be possible to set up the wings to the cockpit module within it.
2. Room for a fully rigged Europa is required to complete the following:
        a. Wing incidence setup.
        b. Flap to fuselage interconnect.
        c. Wing fairing attachment.
        d. Final rigging checks
        e. Weight and balance.

All apart from step 2e can be done outside provided the weather is warm
and dry (not easy to arrange in the UK especially over the last few
months).

My workshop was 34ft x 9ft which allowed me to cope until reaching step 2.
I managed to get 2a,b & c done in 11 days taking leave and begging use of a
large workshop just for that period. The space was provided by the company
I employed to paint my aircraft which might be a consideration if you don't
do your own paint work. Steps 2d & e can wait until just before final
inspection. It certainly helps to have some extra storage area particularly
for the upper fuselage moulding until it is required. It also helps to
purchase each stage of the kit as you need it (if practical) minimising the
overall storage space required. Some builders who intend trailering their
Europa have bought their enclosed trailers early to provide extra storage
space.

I hope this is of some help.
