"Clamp both lines to the filter with locking pliers."

If, like me, anyone is concerned about the effectiveness of this method of
stemming the fuel flow, the difficulty of access when the pliers are in the
way, and the likely damage to the fuel lines, you could fit fuel taps
between the tanks and the filters. Suitable ones are available from Skydrive
at 10.00p.each. If mounted under the seat support material next to the
filters with the tap spindles horizontal there is no chance of them moving
to the 'off' position while the seat support material is in place. By
putting the tank selector to 'off' the filters can be isolated from both
directions, and only a very small amount of fuel can possibly escape.
