Also I happened to perform a small study on NACA vents some time ago.
To support Ducan message, location, location !
The "NACA sumerged inlet" works only if the streamlines at its location
are fairly parallel (ie no acceleration or especially no deceleration)
and not too disturbed.
A clean inlet ramp, really square edges and a proper "lip" are required.
