Marc

I am writing this from a UK perspective and things may be different where
you are.

David Stanbridge (owner of Europa) is interested in the UL260i engine but it
is not likely to be followed up in the foreseeable future. The full cost of
clearing a new engine will run to tens of thousands of (GB)pounds and
probably take at least a year.

To explain this further:-
1) you are going to need a new engine mount, which will need proper stress
calculation and consideration of weight and balance.
2) you will need a new cowl and this will need testing to demonstrate that
the cooling is effective.
3) you will need a suitable prop. This is more difficult than you may think
due to resonance problems and other issues.

To give an examples, in 1997 Europa did a lot of work on a BMW engine. This
was dropped when torsional vibration problems could not be overcome.
