Fred,

The gadget is constructed from 1/8" semi-hard aluminum, 5" wide. I
don't know the actual hardness, but it's fairly stiff. To bend it I
used a vise and did a little pushing. For the 90 degree (approximate)
bend I used a hammer to tap out the radius, moving the plate in the vise
a few times. Ended up with about a 3/4" radius, which really stiffened
the back plate. The slot was just drilled on each end, then connect the
holes with a saber saw, opening the center to drop in the belts. I slit
a length of Nylo-Flo tubing to line the bottom of the slot, to prevent
the belts from chafing. The bolts on the back plate are all set in the
hardpoint. The ones in the top of the headrest simply have large
washers, underneath. When adding the rear plate, I had to substitute a
longer bolt, through the harness connector.

I look forward to the clear tips. They are all that remain, to finish
the wings...
