Hi! Guys.
I have already offered covered trailer recovery for discussion, also for
mono-wheel subject to purchase of a couple of short dummy spa's in time for
them to be modified to locate and steady the fuselage between the stowed
wings( does anyone have such surplus to requirement?).
However I would like to chip in on the question of speedy spares and
stock holdings etc.
I feel we shouldn't forget that Europa Aircraft Co. should have an adequate
stock and the parts usage evidence to provision for the likely regular
spares coverage, obviously we need some commitment from them for "24x7"
availability? If they are selling the product I would expect a considerable
back-up commitment from them as being one of their main selling boasts, in
fact I seem to remember Ivan Shaw making such considerable statements!
With this in mind I think the Europa Club should make some direct approaches
to them to be very much part of the ultimate "rescue service" as we see it?
In short there is currently lots of chat and endeavour being made as IF THEY
DON'T EXIST?
I would have thought that if we were to think in terms of shuttle
connections of Club Members
re:- parts collection/payment etc. it wouldn't be necessary to carry capital
cost items on a SECOND set of shelves?
If this were the case I, for one, am in the likely firing line for Wombleton
rendezvous ,subject to weather etc. In the case of bad weather making air
collection impossible then the normal
TNT type overnight systems are available, probably cheaper than road
collection by ourselves.
That makes me ask the obvious question "how urgent, how costly ,who
reimburses who " ?
I certainly would volunteer for such help to Club Members and in fact as
above have done ,time isn't a big deal, the aircraft is available, the
trailer is available(with me as pilot or driver respectively) but both cost
considerable fuel , in the case of the trailer, car and tyre running costs
also.
I don't wish to sound mercenary, 'cause any Club Member and/or Passenger in
our area in distress
is very welcome to overnight stay , (as I've already demonstrated)I might be
fresh out of beer though! But existing facilities don't cost and so are
easily shared .......but fuel etc........?
Hopefully this communication is received in the positive spirit it is
written ... all IMHO!
Incidentally I'm rarely without my mobile 'phone 07973 832741 and for short
absences my main line o1472 852498 is diverted. But if I happen to be
flying........!!!!!
Best regards
