I was so undecided about the panel that I just made one of Alu as large as
will go in front of the pilot (around 12"x9"). This would take the standard
6 instruments and could be shock mounted and would have been inexpensive to
rearrange. I say "would" here because I never have put any instruments there
! - reserving it for a 10.4" flat display, but it would seem a desirable
approach if you do not know for sure what you want.. First flight was two
years ago with this panel unfilled, and ASI and Altimeter fitted to the
right. Although the display is now active these remain, as they are basic
non-electric backups whatever gizzmos appear on (or disappear from) the
screen.
