I too was interested in fitting a more powerful starter to my classic/912S E
uropa but today I managed to get a good look while doing another 50 hour ser
vice and I can confirm that it is NOT possible to fit in the extra 15mm leng
th. There is only 12mm between the rear of the standard starter and the engi
ne mounting frame upright.
