If only that were so.  Any State of residence which has a sales tax can
hold you liable for sales taxes not collected by an out-of-state vendor.  
Some also have a kissin' cousin called a "use tax," wherein they can wait 
until the aircraft receives its airworthiness cert before commencing the 
assessment process.
