Steve,

If you read about 3 years ( :-) !) ahead in the manual - I didn't -
you'll find that when you come to fit the rudder to the fin, you adjust
it then. I've found a whole host of different shapes executed for this -
some absolutely lovely jobs included - on the Europas I've looked at.

Given that I made a less-than-perfect job of both tip and root of the
leading edge, I'm just glad I get to mess with the former and cut off
the latter.

Jeremy

Subject: rudder core

Just started shaping the rudder core and I read somewhere that there is
a
problem with the leading edge tip hitting the fin when the rudder is
deflected to the left. Is this a problem, and if so is it something I
can
address at this stage? The manual isn't very specific about the shape of
the
tip. Also, do the hinges need to be treated before being bonded to the
rudder? Thanks,
                             Steve
