Recently there has been some discussion on radios and some antenna issues had come up.I have been planing on going the copper tape route inside the tail fin. I have not heard bad things about this setup it works OK. However a friend who does composite repairs notes that the long term installation of these things suffer from the copper tape cracking. So he advises against their use. He does however swear by the Bob Archer antenna for composite use. Are there any users out there with an installation in a Europa who care to comment? Are your antennas installed on the side of the fuselage or in the tail fin?I am planning on making a VOR antenna out of the tape for the top of the fuselage to hook my hand held Icom Com/Nav walki talki into for secondary use.Has anyone donethis?Steve HagarA143Mesa, AZ--- Steve Hagar--- hagargs@earthlink.net |
