For anyone interested in aero design trivia re engine thrustlines, I
read about the fwg. Ever notice that rear-engine jets have the
engines noticeably pointing aftwise downwards? Prevent adverse
pitch-moment effect with power like prop planes? Nope. Good lord,
jet engines take 'til next Tuesday to spool up. Fuselages exhibit some
lift, and any lifting thing lift generates downwash. The thrustline
angle is optimized for efficient inlet airflow to the engines in the
cruise. Off the net; may be even true.
