Archer antennas

Cheers,

Apples and Oranges, men.

There is no "Archer" antenna, but there is an Archer antenna
manufacturer.
What is being compared is a "J-pole", a quarter-wave vertical
paralleled to a triple quarter-wave vertical - which eliminates the need
for a 'counterpoise' or ground (sorry, earth) to:
a dipole, in which one pole contrasts with the other pole (another
1/4wave) which IS a counterpoise.

Each aerial does its thing in its own way, and the tuning of same is
the overriding quality which improves the efficiency of reception (and
transmission, usually).
The VSWR is vital, but siting can have great effect too. (Avoid
adjacent similar aerials). Check for funny readings while transmitting
as well. Parallel sensor lines will give false readings if conduction
occurs.
Happy Transmitting,
