Hi, William --

For the crosstubes, it looks like you can go
forward about an 1" - 1-1/4". Beyond that,
there's interference with the cooling duct
(presuming Rotax 91X engine). Note also I have
the old Mk 1 fuselage.

The real limiter on mine is the extension bracket
for the port side rudder centering spring. I've
temporarily fitted the engine, without the rudder
hardware, and I think I'll have interference there
with the coolant hose. Although, maybe some clever
redesign of your spring setup might cure that, but
still only allowing the above extra 1".

Also, the rudder travel is 2" (total 4") for me,
but I have a redesigned bellcrank at the back (but
I think I matched the original specs for rudder
"gearing").

I haven't done the interior yet, and I'm only
5'10". But in fiddling with this stuff, I found
that with heels on the actual floor itself (verses
the corner) it was very uncomfortable, by
stretching the calf muscles. It seemed also that
there were differences in comfort depending upon
how much the torso is reclined. Of course, there
are no standard dimensions for the "human" type
certificate!

This may be an ignorant suggestion, but maybe you
might slice up some seat foam in various reclining
angles and find the best overall compromise (with
instrument panel in place, and don't forget
headroom vis-a-vis the door "perspex"). Hopefully
others can help here too.
