Just finished testing an ASI with its"pitot" input tee'd into the drain line
of the tank* and the "static" to the vent line. As 130 kts on an ASI
corresponds to 15 in. head of fuel, you can accurately calibrate the whole
scale for the Europa in ltrs or gals. Conventional ASI's have metal bellows,
so as long as the case doesn't dissolve in the vapour (mine hasn't so far) you
have a non-electrical very easy-to-fit device. (passenger head rest is a good
place, this keeps the lines mostly internal and short). No approval though so
far.

* alternatively a two-pipe entry in the top of the tank, one going to the
bottom. Calibration is very slightly different due to compression of the air
in the "pitot" line..
