Graeme,

When my Europa was still a mono I had some mouse incursions. They have
no problem climbing up the mono and into the fuselage. Once in there,
they can get into the cockpit through any number of ways. They are able
to squeeze through very small openings. Openings which you would never
think a mouse could go through. Depending on the configuration of your
rudder and sternpost, they may enter through the tail as well.

I initially solved my problem through the use of poison placed at the
corners of the hangar door along the walls. It is the first thing they
encounter when they enter. I can see when the poison blocks have been
chewed upon. This specific poison block causes the mouse or rat to
become very thirsty so they depart the premises in search of water and
die elsewhere. I don=99t like poison, but it was that or traps.
There=99s no way to seal the main door to keep rodents out.

The final solution was when I converted to tri. No way they can get in
to the aircraft now. But I still worry about them climbing the nose
gear and getting into the engine where they can wreak havoc with wiring
and hose.

Found some droppings on the passenger shelf in my mono and a bit of head
