It is! ;-)

That's why we changed it!
It consists of two parts, both sold by Aircraft Spruce:

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/seatbelt1a.php

Apart from that it eliminates the risk of spinal compression, it is also
a "quick release" type, where all four parts disconnect if you want to
get out. We tested the original harness, but we found that if we would
ever end up inverted, or would have to ditch, it would be possible to get
entangled in it. The new harness has no loops or anything
that can trap you when you are in a disoriented situation and are in a
hurry to get out.

About the connection point: the door flange is already quite strong by
itself, and its shape makes it convenient to attach the harness. We
reinforced the area with a anluminium angle bracket, folding around the
flange so it "grips" from behind the flange. We further reinforced the
area with a few layers of bid. Of course if the situation is violent
enough something will break, but this applies to the other (original)
attachment points as well.

If anyone is interested in a set of original Europa harnesses, never
used except for test fitting, let me know.

Frans
