I have to agree with Simon.  Mod 60 explicitly states that the sight gauge
is to be retained.  If you deletes the sight gauge a) you did not read the
instruction and b) technically your permit to fly is  invalid.

The pdf for mod 60 (fuel gauge) seems to suggest that it is not sufficient
to only have the float gauge and that a second method of verification is
required.
