You have a very good question.  I am sure you will get answers on both 
sides.

I did my heat curing  (what I did of it)  before I did the filling.  I think 
there might be some setting and print-though while it is curing.  The 
"gassing" of the epoxy (if that is the correct term) would seem to be better 
done with out the added filler thickness over the lay-ups.

Jus my thought.
