I just cut a little notch in the flange to accommodate the extra
movement.

FYI, we've just had a local pilot find the 2:1 ratio between the
tailwheel and rudder movement on Graham's mod to be a bit of a handful
for him to handle on sealed runways. He had no problem on grass but had
some real issues operating off the seal. He's remodelled the tailwheel
arm and reduced the ratio to 1.5 to 1. While he can't turn as tight a
radius when parking on the couple of landings done so far he's found
that he is much happier with the plane's behaviour on landing.

The new arm that has been made allows the ratio to be set at 1:1, 1.5:1
or 2:1 simply by relocating the aft fittings. Once the high winds die
down here then they are going to do a series of tests to do a
comparitive test between all of the ratios.
