Whoops - I built Skydrive's test rig.

Actually it was designed simply to test the function and calibration of the
tachos, and permit calibration if that was out.  It can't simulate dodgy or
noisy inputs.  The spurious or parasitic pulses on the input from the engine
has a ring of truth about it.
