Rotax tacho problems/wanted

Subject: Rotax tacho problems/wanted

My standard Rotax analogue tacho has just started playing up by sometimes
flickering
at rpms above about 4500 (giving the appearance of 'kicking' or jumping
up and down by 100 or so rpm) and not giving steady readings (when the engine
is running steady as a rock). Has anyone else experienced this and what did you
do to fix it? I have tried to find loose connections but there don't appear
to be any.

If it needs changing out, does anyone have a spare basic 912/912S/914 analogue
tacho that they don't need, perhaps because you've upgraded to an EFIS type
system?

Any help gratefully received.
