Cheers,
I haven't done mine yet but have been preparing for it. For
about a year I was fussing around trying to scrounge a thermostat which
would give me 50deg C. Well I failed - I even made a plea to the local
amateur radio club (one of our guys is the international satellite
president - no dice. Of course various Scientific houses could produce
something on order for delivery later in the century for my mortgage.
Months later we had visitors, and I don't want to boast but the
male in this duo works on atomic physics in Europa, and comes to North
America to study the process - for his holidays. We found a common language
after a day or two and I presented my case.
meant the hardware store) and buy a water heater thermostat, they're
adjustable to within about one degree". I trotted. Sure enough, I came home
with two, at seven Bucks a piece (and that's Canadian - or about ten cents
American) and they tested out to accurate within one degree! I talked a
neighbour (fussbudget) into a new furnace blower (Carbon monoxide, don'tcha
know). I helped him throw out the 'old' one which now adorns the 'oven. He
left, with my great thanks, and an 18th century mechanical calculator he
found around the corner - for his collection. (I later discovered they only
made four......)
Ah. me.
Thought you should know.
