Cutting Corners?

Gents,

I spent over an hour today trying to find a brass or nylon 1/4" x 1/4"
barb end elbow fitting for my fuel sight gauge. (I'm routing it up the
rear of the port seat a la Tony K.) I tried our DIY outlet and both
major auto parts stores and was stymied.

I was able to find a pair made for auto vacuum lines, but I've no idea
if the plastic is fuel resistant. Does anyone have any information on
this? If no one has a definitive answer, I plan on doing a fuel
immersion test with a loose one to see if there's any noticeable
deterioration, so at least there's a science experiment in the offing.

If these parts are suitable, my fuel lines, apart from installing the
drain plugs, are complete and I'm two access panels away from dropping
the cockpit module into the lower fuselage. Another milestone nears.

Gratefully,

Steve G.
