First Flight of N152MT !!

After what seemed like months of waiting, a Canadian High finally brought
relief to Kansas in the form of lower temperatures.

I had a plan and stuck to it. Take-off was uneventful - just keep tracking
straight and lift off 'just occurs'. I climbed to around 500 ft before
lifting flaps and gear.

Stayed in the pattern and continued the turn over the field to 'dead side'.
Up at 3,500 ft slowed for a flaps up stall. Buffet occurred at around 70 mph
IAS a stall soon after. Hmmm ASI seems to be over-reading. Flaps and gear
down buffet at 65 mph IAS and stall in the form of a left wing drop soon
after. Hmmm, ASI definately over-reading!

Flaps and gear up, entered down wind and lined up for a fly past for the
friends and neighbors who had turned out to watch.

Climbed to circuit height and dropped the flaps and gear downwind. Set myself
up for a 80 mph approach speed (Indicated!) and held it all the way down the
approach. Flared, waited - and down, a quick bounce of about a foot them
settled back down again. Wonderful!

Any ideas on how to calibrate my ASI? Odd because it took off at the speed I
expected. Static ports are in the old fuselage position which is probably the
cause.

Other observations - flies straight and level hands off - needs a little left
rudder to keep the ball in the middle so a little flettner strip on the
rudder will be needed I think.

Temperatures and pressures normal.

All I can say is its well worth the effort!! Reward was also in the form of
airplane shaped Rice Krispie Treats courtesy of the little girl next door -
ooh, and a bottle of something suitably sprayed over the rest of the
onlookers!

The 'silly Europa grin' is back!

Someone did bring a digital camera so I'm hoping to post some shots on my web
site in the next few days. I'll let you all know.

Brill !
