XS baggage bay arm

Has anyone got the recommended moment arm for the XS baggage bay? I
modified my 'Classic' and could measure it but want to know if you measure
the front (not very likely), the middle (possible) or right at the back (to
be on the safe side).

Anyone with an XS owners manual should be able to help.

Started the engine for the first time yesterday. After about - well, less
than ten seconds while the fuel went through, started with no problem.
Factory idle setting was about 2,300 rpm so I had to stop after about 10
minutes and make an adjustment down to around 1600 rpm.

Oil pressure went almost in the red straight away but soon went down and
stabilized just slightly more than half way in the green. This I read
somewhere is normal. Water temperature was right in the middle of the
green. Oil temperature took ages to show anything then slowly went into the
green. I suspect having the cowlings off had some effect here.

Much to my delight also the generator not charging light 'went out' when it
started and after I had made the adjustment only begins to come on below
1,500 rpm at which point the engine runs rough and sounds about to conk
out. 1,600 rpm seems to be good idle.

I was told it by observers that it sounded like a Singer sewing machine!

Felt really comfortable with it so did a bit of taxiing to try the brake
out. Great! Got it up to about 30 kt. I feel my silly Europa grin coming on
already!

Photos are in for processing.

Got a couple of snags, like my electrical turns and slip seems to have a
problem with the heat and stopped working although the flag indicated it
was getting power (couldn't hear it whirring) and a small oil leak in one
of the compression fittings.

I still need to placard my instrument panel. One of the red lights was on
and I had to figure out what was wrong. I hadn't flipped the alternator
side of the master switch.

I must admit I've really gone off the trailer. It was about 90 deg on the
ramp and it took the two of us a good 20 minutes to get the aircraft rigged
and a lot of faffing around to make sure nothing got scratched or dinged,
so I can't see myself coming home from work and 'just going flying' unless
I hangar it. I foresee 'road rash' and 'getting it on and off rash'
developing otherwise.
