Thanks for all the great advice! I'm ashamed that I didn't think to
check in with you before I built my curved space demonstration table.
<Hangs head in appropriate demonstration of said shame> I found a good
design, but I stretch its original dimensions without compensating for
the extra length. My bad.
As it so happens, I still need a table to mount my various (and soon to
arrive) bench top tools so my wife and I are thinking it might be best
to trim this first effort down some and make it the "machine table".
That will allow me to start fresh and incorporate your suggestions into
a proper table.
