Really !  My manual only gives the mesh (p.11) - (Edition April 94 came with
the engine in 97 !) or has there been an update ?

I have just  checked the impedance to standard fuel flow through a new
(Halford's HFF200 car  filter) then soaked the whole thing in water for two
hours and rechecked - no difference found.  Ran through like water does, in
fact faster (:-))

So it looks as if these car filters at least are nowadays impregnated for
water resistance. Anyway with the outlets above the tank bottom, you would
have to do aerobatics for water to reach the filter (unless there were litres
of it and the drains were never used).

The ones in G-EMIN have now run 40 hours without any problem.
