The Aeroflash units do not meet FAA's current intensity requirements for the
strobes.
Whether or not they are legal in homebuilts is a fuzzy area. Part 91
permits night flight only with "approved" lights, with no guidance as to what
constitutes approval for homebuilts. Which means potential for legal problems
someday, including denial of insurance coverage -- something only the builder
can decide whether it's something to worry about.
