Thanks to all who weighed in with comments on the fuel tank vent
situation I brought up.
Fred Fillinger's response, in particular, cleared a mental block
for me. I had not considered trying to remove the trapped fuel
---From the tank vent line because blowing into the gauge vent to
clear trapped fuel there doesn't work too well. However, blowing
into the tank vent works very well -- no restrictor as there is
in the gauge line. So, a short length of 1/4 id tubing will be
added to my traveling kit to facilitate this clearing when away
---From home, minimizing or eliminating any fuel spitting and also
allowing faster filling. The only drawback is the gurgling noise
no longer ceases as a warning that the tank is full; any ideas
for a tank vent whistle?
