Yes.  Indeed i brought this up a couple years ago and had determined that 
tolerance
stackups in the pin/receptacle assembly results in this play.  I measured
and tried both my existing classic era and newer xs kit assemblies. All had the
play.  

I also got a quote from Europa for some custom mfg assemblies, but at $1000 i 
opted
to live with the play.
