thanks for the explanation and the interesting link.

I'm currently in the process of obtaining the EASA EIR. 

My Europa is dutch registered and thus limited to day VFR for the time being. 
However
things do change at the moment. Recently Germany also allowed IFR for homebuilt
under certain conditions (of course). So I'm remaining optimistic - as
always :-)
