There is significant interference drag developed at these locations. Ideally a
nicely blended cuff would be available to reduce this element if drag. I started
playing with shapes in CAD but had to stop as real work projects are pending.
These could be made in batches by a 3D printing method (or by mould tools).


An added benefit is that the triggers to fuse joint (left side especially) get
its full complement of air, mud, water and exhaust fumes thrown at it. Covering
it would help stop the typical corrosion problems but create another thing that
needs maintaining. 

Fit would be via a clamp, with sufficient clearance (brushed)  between main gear
leg fairing and cuff to allow normal u/c movement (about 10 def each way). 

Weight in polycarbonate around 4oz each side.
