Please define "..good surface finish and polish"! I tried that before (using a
micromesh kit) starting from the status of a mediocre (cf Renault?) automotive
finish, and it made no difference at all.

The speedkit is probably worth 10kts. A REALLY good surface finish and polish
is worth 5kts. Diving gently into a cruise by progressively applying down trim
is also worth a few kts. I first noticed this on a DA20, climb into the cruise
and it struggled to keep up with a C152, dive into the cruise and it would
do 110kts.
Adding a camera anywhere (on a go-pro type mount) -is -5kts.
