Heather & I are planning to attend the upcoming RAF (Recreational Aviation
Foundation)
flying/camping trip scheduled for March 27, 28 & 29 at NC08 (100 NM E
Chattanooga, 135 NM N Atlanta, 85 NM W Ashville, 75 NM S Knoxville). It would
be fun to have other Europas join this adventure.

Here is a link to a similar trip put on by RAF last September which had 5 or 6
aircraft: http://theraf.org/civicrm/event/info?id=155

As noted in the information from the organizer below, it is an arrive Friday,
Saturday, depart Sunday event. You are to bring your own tent, sleeping gear,
food and cooking equipment. This is an opportunity to fly into several private,
restricted airstrips, mostly grass (check out the video). For more information
or to sign up, contact Bill Repucci below.

March East Coast RAF Adventure

I just wanted to send out an email regarding the planned March East Coast RAF
flying
& camping adventure.

The dates have been confirmed for March 27, 28, & 29th. We are in the process
of contacting all the airports we will hope visit, so the exact route is not
set.
However, we should be camping at NC08 (Tusquittee Landing) both nights.
Here is a video Eric Davis (The planner of this event) made last year of the
approach.

Because of the speed difference in the planes expected (RVs, Bonanzas, Champs,
and Cubs) we will keep the legs fairly short and will plan in a fuel stop or
two.

The (tentative) itinerary will be to meet at NC08 on Friday evening, set up
camp,
eat dinner (bring your own), and start BSing. Saturday morning, after
breakfast,
we will fly out to the various airports. (The list of airports will be
provided prior to the event.) We return to NC08 on late Saturday afternoon,
camp out, have breakfast on Sunday morning and then depart for home.

No showers are available but there is a (clean) port-a-jon on site and each of
us will be responsible for bring food and water for the entire weekend.

Thats what we know at this point. Feel free to invite anyone else along.
Although
the majority of the people on this email are RV pilots, this is NOT an RV
event and any type of plane is welcome.
