I wrote off my Alpi 300 in August. Insurers would not under any circumstances
sell
me the wreckage despite zero damage to engine. They claim that the engine
will be crushed to stop it being salvaged, inspected and put back in to use.
This
warning is given in case you buy secondhand. Insurers have the Rotax serial
number and won't pay out if you have an incident and have an engine that has
previously been written off.
