Tony R has explained the build of the spar well; but (from the photo I saw)
your hole is away from the edge where the most stress hits. So the amount of
strength lost may be a lot less than you first imagine.


Before you do any more I would take your photo again with a ruler set up
showing the edge at zero on the rule. This will enable the distance of the
edge of the spar to the hole to be read off from the rule. Then pose the
question to the factory........

Hello Will,
Your wing is like an I beam, a steel girder. The premise is not dissimilar
to the way sandwich composite construction works, by having a core material
separating two composite sections that oppose each other, one in compression
and the other in tension. The factory will be the ones to help you. Good
luck sorting it.
