the material I used was an L-shaped alu angle which I bought at the
local "Home Depot" store.
material thickness: 1,5 mm; L-profile: 20 mm x 8 mm
Jean Philippe Neel and Davis Joyce reported very similar problems:

and I change for a stronger one, always in Alu but 2.5 mm thick.I tried
to to have holes with minimum play./
