I am up to the wheel nuts on my trike, and have SERIOUS doubts about the 150
foot pounds
quoted in the build manual. Given these are alluminium nuts, coupled with
fact these are tapered
bearings, IF i was able to get the nuts THAT tight the wheel would not
rotate. My previous
experience with wheel bearings on cars trucks trailers etc has always been
to set the bearing nut
to be tight enough to eliminate any chance of end float and just snug enough
the wheel can be turned
freely but with a small amount of resistance.
