This is a knock off of the COZY canard trim, modified to suit. It attaches
to the push rod arm on the existing bolts
so no mods or extra hardware are needed, other than the hole for the bell
crank bolt in the seat back and the four holes
to mount the servo. Complete assembly weighs in at 330grams.

Horse shoe spring is 6 layers of 27000 psi UNI kevlar. 5 inches in diameter
(a CD is a good template)
with a 30mm tail to allow for mounting

Arm mounting bracket is 3mm x 20mm alloy angle, with another 3mm x 40mm
plate alloy 100mm long with a 20 degree bend towards
the floor of the aircraft. six rivets and 420 hold the two together. the
other end of the spring is also 3mm x 20mm angle.
Spring is clamped in at both ends and 420'ed in place.

Bell crank is supported by 3 bearings, and has 3 positions for spring mount
point to allow for 1:1, 1.5:1 and 2:1 gearing
of the servo. Alloy for bell crank is 11mm cold rolled solid billet, which
was milled to size, (hand cutting was just tooo hard)
angle of crank is 25 degrees, but i think about 20 would be better. Mount
hole is 45mm above the small step under the seat for
the rudder cables

servo is ray allen with 1 inch travel.

attachment from spring to crank is 3/16 rod with nylock nuts. servo to crank
is with the supplied threaded rod and ends

Spring can support weight of controls with cockpit module on its side. If
control weight is "dropped" onto spring at neutral
position controls rebound to "center" position.

The spring and crank can be inserted through the port side spar hole. Servo
and crank adjustment can be done through fuel tank
access ports.

Any comments, thoughts, other issues I am not aware of.

regards
