I am about to do my mod 71. Did you follow the advice to stretch the
springs and wedge them apart with 1/4 in. spacers or did you find some
other way?

For those of you about to undertake Mod 71, I just finished mine today.
The
instructions are pretty good except
to let you know it will take more than one person to install the Mod. I
had
2 friends helping out and it still
took a coupled of hours and a lot of hard work. The springs go onto the
top
easy enough but the sterch to the bottom
is a real bugger. Have a long crow bar or some way of streching the
spring
down onto the lower attachment ready when you
begin the job.
