Yes, In my case, I did that. The maximum current draw is about 11 amps.

Have folk out there used a direct reading ammeter or is the preferred
method to use a shunt? We have a direct reading instrument and given we
are not talking huge current in the europa was wondering if this was
safe to bring into the panel.
