Mike,

You are correct, in that 275 is max for the 912S.  The temp is taken 
right at the spark plug, where I understand it's probably at its 
hottest.  My engine has not exceeded that temp and generally runs 10 - 
20 degrees cooler.  Just giving my extremes...
