I have decided to upgrade my Europa to XS firewall forward
specification. This means that I no longer have a requirement for my
Classic stainless exhaust. It is available for sale at 300UK pounds. I
believe the new ones cost over 500UK pounds + tax.
I have ordered my XS firewall kit and I am pleased to report that the
factory thinks there should be little delay on getting the parts. The
limiting parts for delivery are the cowls but I should get those in
January. In the meantime there is plenty of work for me to do with the
rest of the kit but I have one problem. The XS firewall forward kit
assumes that the engine comes with the engine ring mount (it is a Rotax
part). The Classic does not use the ring mount so I have had to order
this separately. Unfortunately Skydrive only receive orders from Rotax
every 4-6 weeks and will not now be placing another order until after
Christmas. As the ring mount is the first part to be fitted it seems I
am delayed until I get a ring mount. Is there any builder out there who
has a ring mount which they are not planning to use for the next 2
months and would be prepared to let me have in exchange for mine when it
arrives?
