It was my understanding that the A Plane Is Born kit was never completed,
and the aircraft shown flying was indeed 'in drag'. I forget which aircraft
it really was, though.

I also remember hearing that the APIB kit was acquired shortly before the
collapse of EMIL by a creditor in lieu of the debt. Perhaps it will appear
on the market soon!

Of course, I also remember being told by EMIL that Mark Evans was trying to
acquire 'Leonie', even though he'd done relatively little of the work on it
- a Friday a week while a contract builder did the real work full time!

Cheers,
Jeremy

The sharper observers of the "flying aircraft" page on the Europa
Club website may notice that there are now _less_ aircraft identified
as having flown than there were last week. This is because G-OIZI,
the aircraft purportedly shown flying in the TV series "A plane is
born", has had its registration cancelled by the CAA because "No
Permit to Fly issued". I guess that goes to show that you shouldn't
believe everything you see on the telly! Certainly the aircraft shown
in flight had no visible markings, which always struck me as very
odd. Perhaps Neville or someone involved with the making of the
programme might care to let us know more about the true state or fate
of G-OIZI. Did it get a Permit to Test but never a full Permit? Or
did it never (yet) get completed to be ready for flight?

The Sharper eyed might also have noticed that before it was painted it had a
912S and a warp drive prop but after the paint job it had a 914 and
airmaster.

My money is on G-KITZ in drag!

Simon
